Just outside the Grande Raccordo Anulare of Rome is Casal Lumbroso, a residential area within the XII Town Hall: here are its main urban features and the main attractions nearby it.
The Casal Lumbroso area extends just outside to the Grande Raccordo Anulare, on a territory alternating between valley bottoms and ridges. The main axis is divided into the thirteenth zone, a name derived from the corresponding mileage on the Via Aurelia, consisting mainly of small buildings and two or four-family houses. We then find the Massimilla area, which houses small buildings, and finally the Ildebrando area, with houses along the entire street and where you can visit the only park in the vicinity, with a total of just over 10,000 inhabitants.
The structure of the area does not present places with central characteristics, such as a square or a commercial avenue, if not near the Via Aurelia. In May 2009, there was the idea of building the football stadium for A.S. Roma, which eventually died out. It was an idea however that would certainly have contributed to giving greater impetus to the territory that is devoid of prominent tourist attractions within it.
Casal Lumbroso is located in the tree-lined, elegant and suburban district of Municipio XII which includes the Janiculum hill, which is also referred to as Monteverde. Many of the parks and squares in the area offer panoramic views of Rome and the large Villa Doria Pamphili filled with formal gardens, and jogging and birdwatching trails. The restaurants and bars, paired a welcoming atmosphere and hidden stairways lead to ruins covered with vegetation, up to the streets of Trastevere situated below.
A few minutes from the exit of the Grande Raccordo Anulare you can find one of the largest water parks in all of Lazio. Hydromania hosts many pools, suitable for all ages and levels.
